Following a bit of a lean spell, Orpen’s Art was 17lb lower than when runner-up a couple of times just under a year ago and everything clicked into place here. Never far away, there was one anxious moment when the gap between the leader Billy Red and the inside rail closed just as he was being delivered with his effort over a furlong from home but fortunately he still had enough time to switch around his rival and put in a sustained effort to win.
